The Kia Sorento hasn't been on sale for all that long in its current form (since the 2011 model year). Still, for 2014, the Sorento is already up for some significant improvements. The fact that the latest Kia Optima is spectacularly nice is no surprise.

Kia has been running circles around Honda and Toyota for a couple of years, and the Optima shows why: excellent quality, a luxurious driving feel and gorgeous looks.

Boy, selling compact cars has become a brutally tough way to make a living.
