Six years after announcing they were going to build it, Kia finally unveiled its new rear-wheel drive sports sedan: the 2018 Kia Stinger.

According to motorauthority.com, the most dynamic Korean-made sedan rolled out at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show packing a twin-turbo V6 engine. When the vehicle is brought to market later this year, it will be available in either that 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6, or in a 2-liter I-4. Both come with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and an all-wheel drive system with electric torque vectoring will be available. Suspension-wise, it has MacPherson setups with adaptive dampers. Among its other outstanding features, the Stinger has a wheel base longer than that of several coupe-like sedans, as well as a larger cargo space. The V6 model will be able to go 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds thanks to 365 horsepower and 376 pounds of torque. The I-4 powertrain comes with 18-inch wheels while the V6’s has 19-inches.

After the K900, this is the second rear-wheel-drive vehicle to be produced by Kia, and while it is a sedan, it has the sleek, curved-back lines of a coupe to give it a meaner, sportier look. Other optional features like Nappa leather and a 15-speaker sound system will be available as well as driver aids such as cruise control, collision warning, and blind spot warning.

The name fits it perfectly. It has the style, the comfort, the overall feel of a Kia, but now it has a stinger full of sport and power that has never been seen before. There is no doubt that this new vehicle is going to be a fantastic addition to our sedan inventory.
