In case you were wondering, the “GT” of the all-new 2018 Kia Stinger GT technically stands for “Grand Tourer.” But now that reviews are starting to trickle out, it’s clear that the car is quite a bit more than that. When Autoblog tested it on the Nurburgring, which boasts 17 percent inclines, 11 percent declines, and 73 turns, it was clear that Kia wanted to show off its sport sedan potential as well.

Fortunately, the Stinger GT has the right stuff: a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 doles out 365 ponies and 376 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of an eight speed automatic, and stopping power handled by meaty Brembo brake rotors. On the ‘Ring, the reviewers found the car’s 4.9-second sprint to sixty was no accident, and were pleased by the responsive steering and excellent handling dynamics it displayed. Beyond that, Autoblog was confident the Stinger GT would be adept at long-distance cruises with plenty of exhilaration.
